A few months after the launch of the Galaxy S22 series, Samsung is preparing to launch the next member, which is the Galaxy S22 FE. Surprisingly, according to leaked information from China, the Galaxy S22 FE may be equipped with a more powerful processor than the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Instead of using Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2200 processor, like the Galaxy S22, Samsung will probably equip MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 processor for the Galaxy S22 FE. According to the leaked performance scores not long ago, the Dimensity 9000 has a score superior to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or the Exynos 2200, only inferior to Apple’s A15 Bionic.
Despite its impressive performance, MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 is cheaper and is available on both mid-range and high-end smartphones. Therefore, the fact that the Galaxy S22 FE is equipped with MediaTek’s new processor will be very noticeable.
However, Dimensity 9000 will not support carriers in the US, so this Galaxy S22 FE version could be launched in Europe, China and other markets. Meanwhile, the US version will most likely still use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip.
This could be a replacement for the Exynos 2200 processor, which did not make much of an impression when it was launched recently. Despite being equipped with a GPU manufactured by AMD, the Exynos 2200 has yet to show its superiority over current competitors.
The same source also revealed that the Galaxy S22 FE will be equipped with a 4,500 mAh battery, in addition, other parameters will be nearly identical to the Galaxy S22, with a similar screen size. Currently, the launch date of Galaxy S22 FE has not been revealed.
