However, the price of gasoline this time may increase lower than the previous operating periods, hovering around 400 VND/liter. If it is as forecasted by experts, in this operation, domestic gasoline products will increase sharply for the 7th time in a row, bringing gasoline prices closer to the unprecedented level in history of 33,000 VND/liter. .

Previously, government information said that the Ministry of Finance submitted to the Government to submit to the Standing Committee of the National Assembly to adjust the environmental protection tax rate for gasoline, oil and grease to the floor level in the tax bracket until the end of December 31, 2022. Specifically, for gasoline, it decreased from 2,000 VND / liter to the floor level of 1,000 VND / liter, diesel oil decreased to the floor level of 500 VND / liter, fuel oil and lubricants to the floor level of 300 VND / liter; for kerosene products: Keep at 300 VND/liter because this is the floor level in the tax bracket.

From January 1, 2023, the environmental protection tax rate for gasoline, oil and grease will continue to comply with Resolution No. 579/2018/UBTVQH14 of the UBTVQH. For the case where the Resolution is issued in July 2022, it is proposed to take effect from August 1, 2022 to ensure the implementation.​
