Google has quietly launched an application on Apple’s App Store, making it easy for users to switch from iPhone to Android smartphone. The app has been available for download since Monday, but Google hasn’t announced the launch. The app, called “Switch to Android”, allows you to choose what data to transfer from your iPhone to another Android smartphone.
Transferable data includes contacts, calendar events, photos and videos. You won’t need an extension cord, but data transfer can be done over a Wi-Fi connection. However, Switch to Android will not be able to transfer apps installed on iPhone, nor old message content.
Besides, Switch to Android also guides you through the necessary steps to turn off iMessage, to make sure you won’t miss messages from friends or family sent via iMessage. The app also shows you how to transfer photos and videos saved on iCloud.

Currently, users will not be able to find the Switch to Android app themselves when searching the App Store. But it can still be downloaded using the direct link here. Google has not yet said why it has not officially announced the launch of this useful application.
