In March 2022, the Galaxy S9 series received the latest Android security update even though it was not part of Samsung’s plans. However, it is also the last update on this 4-year-old smartphone line. Samsung will no longer provide new software updates for the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus.

Samsung removed the Galaxy S9 duo from security update page of the firm. Previously, Samsung downgraded the Galaxy S9 to a quarterly update schedule, which usually happens when the phone is in its final year of support.
Although extending security updates until 2022, Samsung has stopped updating Android for Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus from One UI 2.5 version based on Android 10, if you want to update to higher Android versions, users must handmade in an informal way.
Samsung has also downgraded the Galaxy S10 to quarterly updates instead of monthly updates. This means that Samsung will end support for the S10 series at the same time next year.
